goverment

mayor the current mayor of hillford is thomas kelley (d), a forty-five year old native who ran as somewhat of a joke two terms back when the previous mayor failed to handle the increase of new residents and businesses in the town. unfortunately for mayor kelley, the townsfolk liked his message of growth while keeping hillford focused on maintaining its small town charm and he was elected, though he didn't mind. in fact he's done a lot to help draw commuters from the city to hillford while working with construction companies to keep the cost of housing done and has implemented a push for local businesses to raise their minimum wage. he can often be found skiing in the winter and hitting the trails in the summer.

deputy mayor holding the position of deputy mayor is nancy guzman, a fifty-three year old transplant who moved to hillford in 2003 from new york city with her wife and two children. her wife works as business analyst in the city, commuting back and forth. nancy brings a voice of all transplants and commuters to the table, making sure they're heard.

sheriff a year away from retirement, sixty year old sherrif douglas clark is ready to call it a day. douglas, who was born in hillford, is a former sergeant major in the army who served in the gulf war. after retiring from the army, he came back to hillford to become an officer. don't let his service history fool you, he's a pretty big hippie that is known for frequenting the art studios in berkeley, specializing in pottery.

council members the five members of the council include the deputy mayor, nancy guzman, and the sheriff, douglas clark. the other three members are up for grabs. if interested, please let the mods know here when applying (these will be first come, first serve).

Brant Lauritz is the forty-three year old editor-in-chief at the hillford gazette. he's at every town event, big or small, being buddy buddy with everyone. he's a big guy, with a big personality. be careful what you share with him though as he's been known to be a bit of a gossip.

daniel sullivan this crotchety sixty-four year old hillford native hates the change he sees in his town. he's anti-transplants and anti-people. most days you can find him mumbling under his breath as he takes his daily morning walks through inner bay about how hillford has lost its charm since those damn city folks started moving in. if your lawn isn't up to his standard or he finds you on the beach after hours, he will call the sheriff's office on you.

Ida Morris at fifty years old, ida is the third generation owner of morris farms. morris farms is an ethical farm that specializes in fresh eggs, goat and cow milk, fruits and vegetables. ida converted part of the farm into a rescue some five years ago, housing abused and neglected farm animals. every sunday you can find her and her partner, rod coleman, at the farmer's market, along with her rescue pet goat, tucker.

michael and darlene floyd michael, the son of james floyd, and his wife are owners of one of the biggest and most expensive houses in riverview. these two are reverse snowbirds, they leave for the summer and come back in the winter. unlike his father, michael could careless about the town and darlene can often be heard saying "don't you know who i am?" when she's in town. karen's have nothing on her, but unlike karen's, she doesn't get her way as no one cares about who she is.
